About Us

Located in Trieste (Italy) within AREA Science Park, CBM was founded with the mission of acting as a bridge between Research and Industry in the biomedical sector. It coordinates the Technology District of Molecular Biomedicine of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, established in 2004 thanks to a framework agreement signed and financed by the Ministry of Education, University and Research and the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region.

CBM's aim is to become a leading provider of preclinical and clinical services in Central Europe and beyond. Its expertise includes most -omics technologies for biomarker discovery (genomics, proteomics, metabonomics) complemented by a highly qualified bioinformatics team performing both routine services, as well as custom and integrated research projects. The preclinical characterization of novel theranostic targets is ensured by a comprehensive, state-of-the-art facility for in vivo and in vitro optical imaging studies, and the validation provided by a clinical setting is ensured by CBM facilities located at the Oncological Reference Centre of Aviano, thus permitting the completion of comprehensive pharmacogenetics, pharmacoproteomics and pharmacokinetics studies.
