Explore Optix

In Vivo Optical Imaging

During optical imaging experiments, mice are anesthetized using a gaseous anaesthesia system based on isoflurane mixed to oxygen and nitrogen protoxide and placed inside Explore Optix. A prescan image is acquired before labelled probe administration. Different routes of administration can be performed: intraperitoneal, intravenous, intratumor, subcutaneous, etc.

Explore Optix

The laboratory is equipped with Explore Optix (ART), a pre-clinical optical imaging system, which allows to follow in vivo biodistribution and pharmacokinetic processes of fluorescence emitting probes.

Explore Optix is a small animal time-domain pre-clinical imager and optical imaging is a non invasive technology which allows to visualize molecular events in real-time and over time in the same animal, providing an optimal tool for studying biodistribution, accumulation and elimination of specific emitting probes, both in the healthy and in the pathological model.

What is eXplore Optix MX?

eXplore Optix MX is a fluorescence time-domain (TD) optical imaging system designed to visualize, characterize, and quantitate biological processes in living animals.
Developed as a non-invasive in vivo imaging platform, eXplore Optix MX can dramatically improve the quantity and quality of research information, expedite drug discovery and development, and significantly reduce the cost of animal research.
